Jackson York Adds TSWA 4A All-State Honors to a Historic Junior Season
The honors continue to build for Lago Vista baseball player Jackson York, who was selected in July 2026 as an Honorable Mention second baseman on the Texas Sports Writers Association/Blue Bell Class 4A All-State Baseball Team.
The TSWA recognition is especially meaningful because the team is selected by sportswriters who cover high school baseball throughout Texas. These writers see outstanding players, championship programs and exceptional performances across the state. For Jackson to be included among the best Class 4A players in Texas is another strong validation of the season he produced as a junior.
His growing list of 2026 honors now includes:
- Lago Vista Team MVP
- District 25-4A MVP
- Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 4A All-State selection
- Austin American-Statesman All-Central Texas Baseball Team Honorable Mention
- Texas Sports Writers Association/Blue Bell 4A All-State Honorable Mention
Each honor comes from a different group of voters and evaluators. Coaches recognized him. Local sportswriters recognized him. Statewide baseball writers recognized him. Together, those selections tell a consistent story: Jackson had one of the most complete and productive seasons in Texas Class 4A baseball.
Only an estimated 2% of Texas high school baseball players earn All-State recognition, making the accomplishment extremely rare. Thousands of athletes compete across the state each spring, but only a small fraction receive statewide honors. Earning recognition from both the coaches association and the sportswriters places Jackson in select company.
Awards like these may carry one player’s name, but their impact reaches far beyond the individual.
Jackson’s coaches benefit because statewide recognition reflects the instruction, standards and opportunities provided within the Lago Vista baseball program. His teammates benefit because successful players bring attention to the entire roster. College recruiters who begin by watching one athlete often discover others in the process.
Lago Vista High School benefits because every All-State selection strengthens the reputation of its athletic department. The community benefits because local athletes give younger players someone nearby to look up to. A child playing Little League in Lago Vista can now see that athletes from a smaller Central Texas community can compete with—and be recognized alongside—the best players in the state.
None of this happened overnight.
Behind the awards are years of repetition, physical development and personal discipline. Jackson has spent countless hours throwing a ball against a wall, working on hand-eye coordination, long tossing, hitting and refining the basic skills that great players repeat until they become instinctive.
He has also worked consistently in the weight room, building the strength, power and durability needed to compete through a demanding baseball season. Front squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, jumps, sled pushes, sprints and conditioning workouts are not performed for social-media attention. They are performed because physical preparation eventually reveals itself on the field.
Nutrition has also been part of the process. Eating quality protein, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods provides the energy to train, recover and perform. Talent may open the door, but long-term development requires habits that support the body every day.
Jackson’s junior season demonstrated what can happen when talent is combined with patience, hard work and determination. The statistics were impressive. The awards are prestigious. The statewide exposure is valuable.
But the greatest accomplishment may be the example he has set.
Success is rarely built through one dramatic moment. It is built through thousands of ordinary moments handled correctly—one workout, one meal, one throw and one practice at a time.
Congratulations to Jackson, his coaches, teammates, Lago Vista High School and the entire community on another well-earned All-State honor.
