I love training driven, enthusiastic athletes.  If you’re looking for a Strength Coach for yourself or your high school athlete in order to become stronger, both physically and mentally, then you’ve come to the right place.  The high school years go fast, in fact they will be over in a flash.  It is imperative to start training with an experienced Strength Coach as early as possible – 9th grade is ideal.

Elevate Performance

When I wanted to be the best bodybuilder in the state of Texas, I went up to the biggest guy in the gym and asked him if I could be his training partner.  He laughed.  I “respectfully” asked him why he was laughing and he said:  “I’m sorry to laugh but I get that a lot.  I get asked to be someones training partner, which is a big commitment, and then after a few weeks they don’t show up.”

I said “I’ll show up.”  He said “OK, tomorrow’s leg day be here at 10:a.m.”

Mike and I became training partners for the next 1 1/2 years.  During our training, Mike went on to win several bodybuilding titles including Mr USA.  He went on to tell me that I “was the best training partner that he ever had”.  Those training sessions were brutal but effective.  I learned the value of hard, physical work.  I was in my early 20’s, going to college and training with Mike.  I learned about commitment – showing up when I didn’t feel like it, going beyond what I thought I was capable of and reaching for more in life.

Commitment, focus, toughness.

I still train this way today.  I still compete so that I can feel the excitement of “game day”, hang around other driven athletes and stay strong and healthy.

I realized the importance of finding the best and then learning from them.  This is something that we should be doing for the rest of our lives if we want to become better.  I’m the Strength Coach that will help you or your athlete become better.  Whether it’s bodybuilding, athletics, business, dance, photography or music, seek out and learn from the very best.  Not just for a day or a month. But months, years.  Find out what really makes them tick – and then go after your own goals on the shoulders of giants.

Is It A Good Fit?

With the internet and social media, there’s a lot of noise.  It’s easy to get caught up in the latest fads and training crazes, switching each month to something new.  This is a guaranteed recipe for failure.

In my world, the strength world, nothing takes the place of the basics. Bench Press, Military Presses, Pull Ups, Squats and Deadlifts.  I’ve been doing these core lifts since 1985 and I’m still here.  Healthy and Strong.  Still competing in Austin’s Fittest or True Athlete Games.  To put it bluntly, I believe a good coach must walk the walk to earn the athletes respect.  I would never ask my athletes to do something that I wouldn’t do with them.

Before hiring me, meet with me, talk with my clients, watch a workout and ask a ton of questions.

Focus on the results that your athlete achieves.  Don’t be surprised if your athlete becomes the strongest, most athletic individual in his or her school.  Don’t be surprised if his or her grades begin to improve, a budding leader emerges and colleges start offering athletic scholarships.  It’s happened before.  And it’s happening today.  Want your athlete to get stronger?  He/she will.  Want them to become more resistant to injuries?  They will.  Want them to learn to use their mind to expect more of themselves and their teammates?  They will.

But sometimes, especially in the beginning, they will have to walk alone.  They may want to stop, quit, give up.  That’s why they HAVE to be certain of how badly they want to achieve before they start.  To reach the top, they have to be willing to do what others won’t.  That’s where the Strength Coach who works out with the athlete comes into play.  It’s a special relationship, it’s unusual and it’s powerful.

Block out the noise, show up with a good attitude, be consistent,  and the reason that you hired me – to get stronger – will occur.  The high school years go fast so it’s important to establish goals and then make each day count.

Here is what you get with my Strength and Performance program:

  • private or semi-private training with me in my garage gym in Lago Vista (30 minute drive from Cedar Park, Leander and North Austin)
  • goal setting – short term and long term with me (Scott)
  • establish athletes current body weight on my wifi connected digital scale
  • weekly weigh in
  • establish individuals daily calorie needs
  • daily monitoring and reporting of athletes calories, protein, carbs and fat by me (Scott)
  • adjust calories, protein and carbs as needed
  • the opportunity to workout with older, experienced high school football players how have earned College offers to play football
  • short term and long term group challenges and an opportunity to win rewards (usually a gift card to the winners favorite restaurant)
  • articles, books and shared wisdom regarding mental toughness and how to get on the fast track to physical fitness excellence

2018 Rates!

  • $480.00 for 12 sessions paid in advance
  • Only $40.00 per session which includes daily nutritional guidance.  (This can cost well over $100.00 per session elsewhere).
  • Includes all of the above and 12 sessions
  • Sessions (workouts) last from 60-90 minutes
  • Sessions consist of weekly weigh in, Q&A, warm up, workout and cool down
  • 24 hour cancellation policy
  • Results will vary from client to client
  • In order to get the best possible results, training with me 3 days a week is ideal.  I do have clients that train 2 times a week

Go ahead and check other programs around the Austin area and you’ll find that they charge a lot more and give a lot less.  I won’t be able to keep my rates down for long as I continue to expand my Strength and Performance program.  I would love to begin working with your high school athlete and would love to see you take advantage of this low, low rate!
